On Thursday, July 9, 2026, Abidjan’s Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire became the epicenter of economic ambition as Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, inaugurated the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group. The event drew over 700 investors from friendly nations, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s drive to accelerate private sector participation in its economic transformation.

a strategic partnership for growth

Addressing a room filled with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and private sector representatives, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of this gathering as more than just a dialogue forum. It represented a shared commitment to unlocking Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and fostering sustainable development.

« This session is not merely about discussion—it’s about action. Together, we are laying the foundation for an economy that is not only competitive but also inclusive, creating jobs and driving innovation, » he stated. The Prime Minister emphasized that the government’s strategy hinges on making the private sector the driving force behind this vision, leveraging the nation’s proven economic resilience and steady growth—averaging 6.5% annually over recent years.

sectoral priorities to fuel investment

The PND 2026-2030 outlines clear priorities where private investment is most needed. These include:

  • Industrialization and local value addition: Transforming raw materials into higher-value products to boost export earnings and reduce dependency on imports.
  • Infrastructure development: Expanding transport networks, digital connectivity, and logistics hubs to enhance national and regional trade efficiency.
  • Human capital investment: Strengthening education, vocational training, and innovation ecosystems to build a skilled workforce for the future.
  • Strategic services: Fostering productivity and inclusivity through targeted investments in key sectors that support economic diversification.

The Prime Minister assured investors that Côte d’Ivoire’s dynamic market offers unparalleled opportunities for returns, stability, and long-term partnership.

global confidence in ivory coast’s future

In a powerful show of support, leading voices from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), collectively reaffirmed their commitment to the PND 2026-2030. They pledged substantial financial commitments and operational support to ensure the plan’s successful implementation.

The first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners, had already drawn over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, underscoring Côte d’Ivoire’s growing influence on the global stage. With such widespread engagement, the nation stands poised to solidify its position as a leading economic hub in West Africa.
