Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors for 2026 development plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to mobilizing private investment, kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, under the leadership of Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

With over 700 investors from friendly nations in attendance, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private capital in driving the country’s ambitious development agenda. ‘This gathering marks a pivotal moment for Côte d’Ivoire, as we seek to harness the full potential of public-private partnerships to accelerate economic growth,’ he declared. ‘Your presence here today underscores the confidence placed in our nation’s economic trajectory.’

a strategic forum for economic transformation

The Prime Minister’s address highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic metamorphosis. He pointed to the nation’s robust economic performance in recent years, with an average growth rate of 6.5%, reinforcing its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

‘The opportunities before you are immense,’ he told the assembled investors. ‘This plan is not just about growth—it’s about sustainable, inclusive development.’ The PND 2026-2030 prioritizes key sectors such as industrialization, local processing of raw materials, infrastructure expansion, digital innovation, and human capital development—all aimed at enhancing the country’s global competitiveness.

unwavering commitment from business leaders

The Prime Minister’s remarks were met with strong endorsement from leading business figures. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s CGEM and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their institutions’ readiness to contribute substantial financial commitments to the PND’s implementation.

‘We stand fully behind the government’s vision,’ stated Cissé. ‘Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and strategic initiatives make it a prime destination for investment. We are prepared to play an active role in unlocking this potential.’

setting the stage for long-term prosperity

The Prime Minister’s address concluded with a call for collective action, stressing that the success of the PND hinges on the active participation of the private sector. With the first day of the Consultative Group drawing over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, the momentum is undeniable.

‘This is more than a plan—it’s a promise to future generations,’ he concluded. ‘Together, we will build an economy that is not only prosperous but also inclusive, innovative, and sustainable.’
