Prime Minister Mambé rallies private sector at PND investor consultation

The second day of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 investor consultation kicked off on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé leading the session. The event brought together over 700 investors from allied nations, creating a pivotal platform for dialogue between government leaders and private sector stakeholders.

Building a shared economic vision

During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions. “This consultation marks a new phase in our collective effort to mobilize private capital, foster entrepreneurship, and generate sustainable value,” he stated. The gathering also served as a strategic forum to align private sector priorities with national growth objectives, reinforcing collaboration between public authorities and business leaders.

Côte d’Ivoire’s economic momentum under the spotlight

Highlighting the country’s strong economic performance, Mambé noted that Côte d’Ivoire has maintained an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, demonstrating resilience amid global economic shifts. “Investors are choosing a market in full expansion,” he declared, underscoring the nation’s position as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies. The government has made the private sector the cornerstone of its economic transformation strategy, aiming to enhance competitiveness and job creation.

The Prime Minister outlined key investment opportunities aligned with the PND 2026-2030, including:

  • Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition
  • Strategic infrastructure development in transport, digital technology, and logistics
  • Human capital investment and innovation to build a more productive and inclusive economy

Investor commitments and regional partnerships

The first day of the consultation, dedicated to institutional partners, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries. At the investor-focused session, leaders from Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector and international business figures reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision.

Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with representatives from the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) and the Confédération générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), joined by Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged significant financial contributions to support the PND’s implementation.
