Abidjan — July 9, 2026: The second day of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was inaugurated in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé presided over the opening ceremony, marking a pivotal moment in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation agenda.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this session serves as a strategic platform to rally private sector support for the ambitious development goals outlined in the NDP. « This gathering represents a critical step toward mobilizing the private investments essential for realizing our vision of sustainable growth and shared prosperity, » he stated. Over 700 investors from allied nations have traveled to Abidjan to participate in the discussions, underscoring the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential.

During the event, which drew business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of fostering public-private collaboration. « Your presence here today reflects the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory and its capacity for growth. As key partners, your contributions will be instrumental in shaping a more competitive and job-creating economy, » he remarked.

The government has positioned the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic modernization. The Prime Minister reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years. « Côte d’Ivoire’s ability to adapt to global shifts—demonstrated through its robust performance—solidifies its standing among Africa’s most dynamic economies, » he noted.

The Prime Minister outlined the sectors poised for accelerated investment under the NDP 2026-2030, including industrialization, local raw material processing to enhance value addition, and the development of strategic infrastructure such as transport, digital systems, and logistics. These priorities aim to boost competitiveness and economic attractiveness while investing in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

He also reflected on the first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy. That session attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, setting a strong foundation for the investor-focused discussions.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from major business organizations reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments. Their collective resolve underscores the private sector’s readiness to play a pivotal role in implementing the NDP 2026-2030.
