In Dakar, a significant milestone has been reached for Senegal’s aviation sector. On September 7, 2026, Air Sénégal officially took delivery of a brand-new Boeing 737-800, christened “Gorée”. This strategic acquisition represents a crucial advancement in strengthening the national carrier’s fleet and reclaiming the country’s aerial sovereignty.
This fleet expansion was made possible through the financial backing of the Senegalese government, specifically via the Ministry of Land and Air Transport, headed by Abdoul Ahad Ndiaye.
