The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has concluded a major summer transfer with the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. The Portuguese striker, who joined PSG from Benfica last year, leaves the French capital club with a remarkable record under his belt.
AC Milan secures Ramos with €74M deal
Despite the summer transfer window remaining relatively quiet due to the ongoing World Cup in North America, PSG finalized the move for Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. The Italian club agreed to a €74 million transfer fee, with potential add-ons that could push the total to €80 million.
Record-breaking exit for PSG’s Portuguese marksman
Ramos, who arrived at PSG in the summer of 2023, never fully established himself as a first-choice striker. However, his impact off the bench was undeniable. The 23-year-old leaves as the club’s all-time leading scorer from the substitutes’ bench, with 21 goals in that role. More impressively, PSG remained unbeaten in every official competition match in which he scored, boasting a record of 29 wins and 8 draws.
A heartfelt farewell to PSG and its fans
Over his 131 appearances for PSG, Ramos contributed 45 goals and 10 assists. In a touching statement, he expressed his gratitude to the club and its supporters: “Today marks the end of one of the most significant chapters of my career. Wearing the PSG jersey was a privilege and an honor I will carry with me forever. Together, we created unforgettable moments and achieved incredible success—winning two Champions League titles and other trophies. We shared experiences that will remain etched in the memories of everyone involved in this journey.
I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, the club’s leadership, and most importantly, the fans. Thank you for believing in me, supporting us through tough times, and celebrating every victory with us. Your encouragement was vital to our achievements. While I’m leaving, I’m taking a piece of my heart with me. PSG will always be my home, and I take pride in having contributed to its story. Thank you for everything. Paris will forever hold a special place in my heart and in the hearts of my family.”
