Upon landing at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, the Gabonese Head of State was greeted by Côte d’Ivoire’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nialé Kaba. The welcoming delegation also included government officials, senior administrative and diplomatic figures, as well as members of the Gabonese community residing in Côte d’Ivoire.

Following diplomatic protocol, President Oligui Nguema received a military salute upon disembarking from his aircraft. Among the dignitaries present was Gabon’s Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Fabrice Boussougou Boussougou, alongside numerous Gabonese nationals who gathered to express their support.

This visit aligns with the official ceremonies marking Côte d’Ivoire’s national holiday, which brought together several foreign leaders and dignitaries. The Gabonese President’s presence highlights both nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.

Beyond the formalities, President Oligui Nguema’s attendance at the independence festivities serves as a powerful symbol of the long-standing friendship between Libreville and Abidjan. The two countries share robust political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.

By joining the Ivorian authorities in celebrating this national milestone, the Gabonese leader reaffirms his nation’s dedication to deepening solidarity and partnership with Côte d’Ivoire.
