The High Communication Authority (HAC) in Gabon has issued an indefinite suspension for the news website Info 241. This significant decision by the media watchdog follows the publication of a controversial article that has ignited widespread debate across the nation.

The article in question, titled « Lanlaire balance sur Oligui : 150 000 € offerts, vidéos compromettantes, bisexualité, 20 milliards dilapidés… », became the focal point of the HAC’s intervention. Lanlaire, whose real name is Anges Landry Mbeng, is a Gabonese influencer currently residing in France.

The HAC asserts that Info 241’s publication contained “injurious, scandalous, and exceptionally virulent remarks” directly targeting the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, and his family. The authority maintains that the news outlet committed clear breaches of the law, justifying the immediate and indefinite suspension of its operations.

In response to the suspension, Info 241 released a statement accusing the HAC of acting prematurely and erroneously. The news portal claimed the authority had “erred without even reading the article that triggered its latest rash decision.”

This development has sparked considerable discussion throughout Gabon. Supporters of President Oligui Nguema have been particularly vocal, issuing numerous statements demanding that legal action be taken against Lanlaire and anyone deemed to be his accomplices in the matter.
