Gabonese political leaders unite after nationwide assessment tour
Leaders from the Parti des 7 Merveilles du Peuple Gabonais (7MP) and the Mouvement Oligui Nguema 100% convened a press briefing in Cité Damas to share findings from their nationwide tour conducted from June 4 to June 25, 2026. The initiative spanned all nine provinces of Gabon, providing a platform for direct engagement with citizens, activists, and local officials.
« This mission allowed us to connect with Gabonese across the country, listening to their concerns and assessing the realities shaping our nation after the 2025 presidential election », stated Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, founder and president of both the 7MP and the MON 100%. The delegation was tasked with gathering insights on key societal challenges and strengthening the organizational foundations of both movements.
addressing citizen priorities through dialogue
During their journey, the delegation prioritized discussions on pressing issues highlighted by local communities. Among the most frequently raised concerns were youth employment, access to clean water, road infrastructure, healthcare, education, and the rising cost of living. « We didn’t just visit; we actively listened to the voices of our people. Their feedback will guide our future actions », added Ndzengouma.
strengthening political structures nationwide
The tour also served as a catalyst for organizational growth. Leaders reported significant progress in restructuring provincial coordinations, updating membership databases, and welcoming new adherents. « We identified fresh local leaders, expanded our reach across all nine provinces, and secured 1,000 new membership applications », Ndzengouma announced. These efforts underscore the movements’ commitment to a more inclusive and responsive political framework.

call for political unity and concerted action
The press conference drew participation from prominent political figures, including Angélique Ngoma, Secretary-General of the Parti Démocratique Gabonais (PDG), and Gervais Oniane, President of the Union pour la République (UPR). Oniane emphasized the urgency of fostering collaboration among political parties to support the country’s transformative agenda. « Unity and shared responsibility are essential for navigating the challenges ahead and driving progress », he asserted.
In a bold move toward fostering political cohesion, leaders of the 7MP and MON 100% proposed establishing a dedicated consultation platform for parties aligned with President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema’s vision. This initiative aims to streamline dialogue, enhance coordination, and amplify collective efforts to address Gabon’s evolving needs.
