Gabon Post savers app to verify accounts online

Gabon Post’s Director-General, Alfred Ikaka Bobe, announced that an online tool is now available for savers whose accounts were frozen to confirm their inclusion in the liquidator’s records—without stepping outside their homes.

Accessible via https://www.ccp.laposte.ga, the platform lets users check their names from any computer or smartphone. Launched this week, it quickly hit capacity after registering nearly 10,000 visits in just a few hours.

« The application has been upgraded and will be fully functional starting tomorrow », Alfred Ikaka Bobe confirmed. Users are asked to update their vital status and select their preferred payment location, whether inside or outside Gabon.

Only savers officially listed by the liquidator but missing their original passbooks need to visit a post office to request a replacement. All others can proceed entirely online.

This initiative follows the 2017 collapse of PostBank SA, a Gabon Post subsidiary, which left tens of thousands of savers stranded. After years of unfulfilled government pledges under the previous administration, the current transitional authorities pledged in February 2025 to settle the debt within three years, releasing 31.2 billion CFA francs in installments.
