With a background as a former Minister of Housing, Mr. Megne Ndong steps into his new role with a clear mandate: to implement the newly established guidelines for the ARTF. His priorities include enforcing the recent ordinance that redefines the authority’s operational framework, fostering collaboration with labor unions and staff members, and enhancing working conditions within the institution.

Key initiatives announced under his leadership include the redeployment of inspection teams and the resumption of oversight activities along the Transgabonais railway corridor, stretching from Owendo to Franceville. These measures aim to strengthen safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the national rail network.

The handover event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Reform and Institutional Relations, François Ndong Obiang, and the ARTF’s Executive Secretary, Adrien Moukabi. Their presence underscored the significance of this leadership transition amid ongoing structural reforms in Gabon’s railway sector.
