FC Nantes to serve one-match stadium ban after pitch invasion during final Ligue 1 fixture

The FC Nantes executive breathed a sigh of relief as the club avoided point deductions to start its Ligue 2 campaign. The LFP disciplinary committee confirmed a definitive match result of 0-0 at the time of the game’s abandonment against Toulouse on May 17, while also imposing sanctions for the pitch invasion that followed.
Before the final whistle of the 34th and final matchday encounter, Nantes supporters stormed the pitch in protest against the club’s relegation to Ligue 2. The referee halted the game immediately, bringing an abrupt end to the proceedings.
The disciplinary measures include a one-match stadium closure and a two-match closure of the Loire stand. The committee also ratified the match score as it stood when play was suspended, maintaining the 0-0 deadlock against Toulouse.
