Abidjan’s Sofitel Ivoire played host to a landmark gathering on July 9, 2026, as Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé inaugurated the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group. The high-profile event brought together over 700 business leaders and global investors to chart a new course for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future.
« This marks a pivotal moment in our collective journey to unlock private investment as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions, » declared Prime Minister Mambé. « The presence of more than 700 investors from friendly nations underscores the confidence in our economic vision and the opportunities this nation presents. »
The Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private sector collaboration in transforming Côte d’Ivoire into a competitive, job-creating economy. « Your commitment validates our economic potential and signals a shared future built on growth and innovation, » he stated, addressing the assembled investors.
Highlighting the nation’s robust economic performance—averaging 6.5% growth over recent years—Mambé positioned Côte d’Ivoire as a prime investment destination in West Africa. « This is a market on the rise, offering unparalleled opportunities in industrialization, infrastructure, and human capital development, » he added.
The PND 2026-2030 prioritizes strategic sectors including:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value-added production
- Critical infrastructure development in transportation, digital technology, and logistics
- Investment in education, innovation, and essential services to foster an inclusive, productive economy
Mambé noted that the first day of the Consultative Group had already attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, reinforcing Côte d’Ivoire’s appeal as a regional economic hub.
Leading voices from the business community echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s Confédération générale des Entreprises (CGEM) and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND’s implementation. « We stand ready to play our part in realizing this vision, » they affirmed.
