Côte d’Ivoire radio frequencies: the strategic calculus behind the AIGF’s spectrum control
Abidjan, 28 September 2026 – Behind every wireless signal, every broadcast and every mobile connection in Côte d’Ivoire lies a governance framework that few citizens ever see. Understanding how radio frequencies are managed and controlled is not just a technical matter; it is a question of national strategy, economic leverage and everyday connectivity. That is precisely why the upcoming public forum on Tuesday 29 September 2026, starting at 3 p.m., will focus on a theme that shapes the country’s digital future: the management and control of radio frequencies in Côte d’Ivoire.
Organised by the Centre for Government Information and Communication (CICG), this press conference is part of the “Tout Savoir Sur” (TSS) series and will be streamed live on the Government’s digital platforms, including Facebook, X and YouTube. Citizens are encouraged to follow the discussions and submit their questions in real time.
The guest speaker is Aliou Bamba, Director of National Frequency Management at the Ivorian Frequency Management Agency (AIGF). He will outline the Agency’s missions in managing the radio spectrum, as well as the mechanisms deployed to ensure rational, efficient and secure use of frequencies across the national territory.
Discussions will delve into the procedures for allocating and assigning frequencies, the conditions for spectrum use, and the monitoring and control systems designed to prevent and address jamming and interference. The AIGF’s track record and its future outlook for improving the management and control of this strategic resource will also be presented.
The forum will take place at the premises of the Integrated Urban Land Management System (SIGFU), in the administrative city of Abidjan-Plateau, with journalists and sector stakeholders in attendance.
Held every Tuesday by the CICG, “Tout Savoir Sur” serves as a platform for exchange between public institutions, the media and citizens, contributing to a better understanding of public policies and services.
