Côte d’Ivoire aims to use digital innovation in education

Côte d’Ivoire Opens Digital Innovation Day In Education

Abidjan, July 21, 2026 (AIP) – The opening of the Digital Innovation Day in Education (JOURIE 2026) took place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the École nationale supérieure de statistique et d’économie appliquée (ENSEA) in Abidjan. The event was organized by the Ministry of National Education, Alphabétisation and Vocational Training (MENAET).

The first day of the JOURIE 2026 aimed to promote research culture and utilize scientific results, as well as innovative teaching methods to improve education quality in Côte d’Ivoire through digital solutions.

A meeting was held with Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Education Studies, Strategies, Planning, and Statistics (DESPS), who emphasized the importance of collective reflection on the impact of scientific research and technology innovation in transforming schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions.

He noted that JOURIE 2026 was a unique opportunity to showcase research works, share experiments, explore digital solutions, discuss systemic issues, and interact between researchers, educators, policymakers, partners, and innovators.

Dr. Meité further emphasized the ministry’s ambition to use digital technology as a quality-enhancing tool for equitable and inclusive education for all.

N’Guessan Koffi, a counselor at MENAET, underscored that this initiative was part of the government’s plan to anchor data-driven reform in education through evidence-based policy-making and international standards.

He stressed that digital innovation is not just an educational tool but a transformative driver, a catalyst for change, and a means to create more inclusive and equitable schools in Côte d’Ivoire.
