Central african banking commission revokes finadev Tchad’s license

The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) has officially withdrawn the operating license for Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.), a microfinance institution, leading to its immediate liquidation.

An official statement released on May 21 confirmed that COBAC’s decision, dated February 5, 2026, constitutes a disciplinary revocation of the license for this second-category microfinance entity operating out of N’Djamena.

Effective upon the formal notification of this ruling, FINADEV Tchad S.A. is now officially undergoing liquidation proceedings.

The communiqué further clarifies that the liquidation process is allocated a maximum period of one year, with the possibility of extension should circumstances require.
