Cameroon private sector pushes for influence in 2027 budget

On 24 June 2026, the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (Ccima) convened private sector representatives to draft input for the 2027 finance bill.

This consultation aimed to gather, assess, and harmonise the concerns of business operators ahead of scheduled talks with the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI). At the heart of the discussions were improving the national tax framework, boosting enterprise competitiveness, and enhancing the business climate. Roughly twenty proposals emerged from the sessions.

The initiative is part of a broader drive to strengthen public-private dialogue and promote a tax system more aligned with the realities of Cameroon’s economy.
