The Cameroonian government has announced a second extension of the census period, aiming to capture more households, individuals, and agricultural operations nationwide. This decision follows an official directive from Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.

Residents in major urban centers like Yaoundé and Douala report that enumerators have not yet reached certain newly developed neighborhoods, which were omitted from initial mapping efforts. The census, now in its fourth phase since April, has so far covered only 60.4% of the population.

Challenges continue to hinder progress, including delayed payments to field agents, which have sparked frustration, low participation rates in some areas, and linguistic and security barriers in high-risk zones.
