Strengthening document security: a priority for Cameroon’s transport sector

Cameroon’s Ministry of Transport is advancing efforts to modernize and secure administrative documents through innovative technological solutions. On June 30, 2026, Minister Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè convened a meeting with Oyono Bika Pierre, Director General of the National Printing Office, and Léonie Kwekam, CEO of Impact Palmarès R&D.

The discussions focused on introducing advanced security features to prevent forgery and enhance the authenticity of official documents, including transport titles. The proposed system integrates cutting-edge technologies designed to make documents nearly impossible to replicate while simplifying their verification process.

The meeting also addressed the secure marking of official letterheads, improved traceability of administrative documents, and strategies to optimize non-tax revenues. While the minister praised the innovation of the proposals, he emphasized the need for thorough technical, legal, administrative, and financial assessments before implementation.

The initiative aligns with broader goals to bolster the reliability and security of official paperwork across government agencies. By leveraging modern safeguards, Cameroon aims to curb fraud and streamline administrative processes nationwide.
