Bruno Genesio’s top target: a familiar forward for Olympique de Marseille

Following a challenging season, Olympique de Marseille is set on a fresh start for the 2025-2026 campaign. While significant departures are anticipated due to financial constraints, the club is reportedly considering bringing back a well-known Ligue 1 attacker. The name Martin Terrier has emerged in Marseille, a prospect that appears to greatly excite Bruno Genesio, the club’s newly appointed head coach.

As the new head coach of OM, Bruno Genesio takes the reins from Habib Beye, whose recent arrival didn’t manage to turn the tide. The 59-year-old tactician recently departed LOSC but notably spent time at Stade Rennais, where he previously managed Martin Terrier. The 29-year-old forward, who has been with Bayer Leverkusen since 2024, is seen as a strong fit for OM.

Olympique de Marseille eyes Martin Terrier, Bruno Genesio enthusiastic

In recent days, Martin Terrier‘s name has been circulating around OM. The 29-year-old player could be a key target for Marseille’s management as they explore potential new signings. A move to Marseille would see him reunite with Bruno Genesio, who coached him during his successful tenure at Rennes between 2020 and 2024. Information suggests that Olympique de Marseille indeed holds a strong interest in Martin Terrier. While discussions are ongoing with the player’s representatives, no formal offer has yet been made to Bayer Leverkusen. It’s clear that Bruno Genesio deeply admires the player, expressing immense enthusiasm for his potential arrival.

Genesio’s strong admiration for the player

Officially appointed as OM‘s new coach, Bruno Genesio is committed to guiding the Marseille club back to prominence. The former LOSC manager would be delighted to welcome a player he has previously coached and knows exceptionally well. Martin Terrier, meanwhile, is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2029, with his current market value estimated at €9M. To facilitate any significant transfers, OM will first need to orchestrate several player departures to replenish its financial resources.
