Bishop of Butembo-Beni condemns political mismanagement in eastern DRC

In a solemn message dedicated to the memory of martyrs Charles Lwanga and his companions, Msgr. Sikuli Paluku Melchisédech, Bishop of Butembo-Beni in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, has issued a scathing critique of national leaders. His remarks come amid a sharp decline in security and social stability within his diocese.

The Bishop expressed deep dismay at what he described as «a widening gap between political rhetoric and the urgent needs of Congolese citizens». His statement underscores growing frustration over the disconnect between governance and grassroots realities.
