Following his victory in the presidential election on April 12, 2026, Romuald Wadagni took the oath of office on Sunday, May 24, during a solemn ceremony held at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou. On the very evening of his inauguration, the newly installed president moved swiftly to constitute his first cabinet, setting the stage for his administration.

This Bénin new government is composed of 24 individuals, with three of them serving as delegated ministers under the Minister of Economy and Finance. Notably, seven ministers from the previous administration led by Patrice Talon have been reappointed, though some will assume different ministerial portfolios within this fresh lineup.

President Romuald Wadagni has publicly committed to maintaining and advancing the robust development trajectory established by his predecessor, Patrice Talon, ensuring continuity in the nation’s progress.
