Spanning an impressive 5,200 square meters, the Mohammed VI Professional Training Center (CFP Mohammed VI) stands as a beacon of opportunity in Bamako, Mali. This state-of-the-art facility is meticulously designed to deliver specialized vocational education, directly addressing the critical demands of the Malian employment landscape.
Mamary Diarra, the National Director of Tourism, expressed profound appreciation for the strong partnership between the nations of Mali and Morocco. He highlighted that this generous donation from His Majesty Mohammed VI unequivocally demonstrates the deep understanding and enduring friendship shared by the two countries. Diarra emphasized the significant impact, noting, «This is a center that will equip young Malians with valuable skills right here in Bamako.» He further elaborated on the institution’s comprehensive amenities, which include modern classrooms, fully equipped mock restaurants, and simulated hotel environments, calling it «a magnificent asset for the Malian state.»
Once fully operational, this vital infrastructure is projected to host nearly 1,000 trainees annually, offering comprehensive programs across 21 distinct fields. These include 12 specializations within the construction and public works sector, alongside 9 programs focused on the burgeoning tourism, hospitality, and restaurant industries.
Mamadou Minkoro Traoré, President of the Permanent Assembly of Mali’s Chambers of Trades (APCMM), underscored the critical importance of establishing such a professional training center within Mali. He highlighted the immense benefit of «training our young people locally, as previously, trainees had to travel to Morocco for their education. This institution not only provides high-quality training but also significantly reduces the travel and accommodation expenses for these students.»
Mamadou Traoré, the visionary behind Balimaya and a high fashion and styling expert trained in Morocco, emphasized Mali’s urgent demand for skilled human capital in key development sectors. He affirmed, «The launch of this center is perfectly timed. I extend my gratitude to the Moroccan authorities for dedicating this facility to Mali, which will enable young Malians to acquire a trade and avoid risky ventures. This establishment will play a crucial role in combating youth unemployment.»
During the official handover of this significant infrastructure to Malian authorities last July, Oumou Sall Seck, Mali’s Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment and Vocational Training, stressed that this initiative directly addresses a strategic need for Mali. It aims to foster skill development and strengthen human capital across sectors vital for the nation’s economic and social progress.
