Justice : Assalé Tiémoko Antoine convoqué par la doyenne des juges d’instruction
Assalé Tiémoko Antoine, the influential president of the political movement Aujourd’hui et Demain, la Côte d’Ivoire (Adci), has been officially summoned to appear before the senior investigating judge at the Abidjan Court of First Instance. This judicial development concerns a legal matter involving the prominent political figure.
The National Executive Bureau of Adci formally announced this information in a communiqué signed by its executive secretary, Roger Youan.According to the official document, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Abidjan Police Prefecture informed Assalé Tiémoko Antoine’s legal counsel about a summons issued for their client. Upon learning of the situation, the deputy-mayor personally proceeded to the Police Prefecture headquarters, where he formally received the summons, acknowledging its receipt by signing a procès-verbal.
The document explicitly states that the Adci president is required to present himself on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 8 AM, before the senior investigating judge overseeing the 8th investigative chamber of the Abidjan Court of First Instance.
In its public statement, Adci highlighted that this summons follows closely on the heels of an incident that occurred on the evening of May 11, 2026. During this event, their president was reportedly prevented from boarding a flight destined for Canada, a situation the political movement described as occurring “without any document being presented” to justify the action.
In response to these unfolding events, Adci has urged its members and supporters to maintain calm, composure, and a spirit of mobilization. The party also encouraged them to continue their efforts in establishing the movement’s presence across the national territory and internationally.
Furthermore, the party revealed that even prior to being informed of this specific summons, Assalé Tiémoko Antoine had already dispatched a letter to the Public Prosecutor, seeking “clarification on his legal status.”
This latest judicial proceeding emerges within a politically charged environment, characterized by the Adci president’s significant media presence, especially since his recent declaration as a candidate for the 2028 municipal elections in the commune of Cocody.
