During a press conference, Aminata Touré, the head of the Diomaye Président coalition, addressed the removal of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. She highlighted what she described as the failure of his brief stint in office, citing his inability to deliver on key issues.
“Niou fal la Premier ministre djokh la ay dossiers meuno ci touss niou dakeu la“, she remarked, using a local proverb to underscore the lack of progress under his leadership. Touré emphasised that true leadership in Senegal requires competence, strategic thinking, and tangible results—not just the exercise of authority without addressing citizens’ challenges.
Her comments reflect growing discontent over political leadership in the country, as many Senegalese continue to grapple with economic and social difficulties. The coalition leader’s remarks signal a strong stance against perceived mismanagement and a call for more effective governance.
