Aldiouma Sow, a key advisor to the President of Mali, has spoken out against his former ally and current Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko. In an interview on TFM’s ‘Infos Matin’ programme, Sow claimed that Sonko had been hiding his true intentions from the opposition.

Sonko was criticized for his handling of the MONCAP crisis, which saw Fifi Diakhaté being sacked as Minister of National Solidarity and Civil Society. Sow described those who were behind the move as ‘messianic’ individuals who are prioritizing their own interests over the party’s.

Sow’s comments have been seen as a significant blow to Sonko’s reputation, with many Malians wondering if he has lost touch with reality.
