This Friday, June 26, 2026 marked the inauguration of Cameroon’s latest agro-industrial breakthrough in Badenkop, Bangou district.

The Denky facility, spearheaded by Cameroonian entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame through Meta Invest, represents a significant leap toward the country’s import-substitution strategy and aligns perfectly with the SND30 development blueprint. Government officials present included Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, underscoring the project’s national significance.

With backing from BGFIBank Cameroon, this marks Tame’s third agro-processing plant launched within two years. The Denky factory specializes in transforming maize, sugar, plantains, and potatoes, targeting an annual capacity of 5,200 to 6,000 tons of local agricultural produce. Built on a three-hectare government-allocated site, the facility is designed to generate between 350 and 550 direct jobs while curbing rural exodus.

“This initiative demonstrates how local processing can create sustainable economic opportunities,” stated Tame during the inauguration. “By adding value to our agricultural products, we’re building a more resilient economy while keeping our youth in rural communities.”
