On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the ONAMA’s Salle Bleue hosted the official launch of a significant new publication titled « L’évolution de la vie parlementaire tchadienne de 1960 à 2020 ». This comprehensive work was penned by Issa Hassana Adoum, a distinguished former Member of Parliament at the National Assembly.
The result of extensive research spanning several years, this 612-page book is meticulously structured into five chapters. It offers a rigorous and objective account of sixty years of Chad parliamentary history. The author thoroughly explores the institutional developments, inherent challenges, notable achievements, and the various transformations that have shaped Chad since gaining independence in 1960.
Dr. Issa Hassana Adoum emphasized that this publication represents a crucial scientific contribution to understanding Chad’s political and institutional evolution. The book is designed to serve as an invaluable resource for academics and students alike, in addition to being a definitive reference document for political stakeholders and future generations.
During the presentation, the author further clarified that this work originated from his doctoral thesis research before being adapted and published in its current book format.
The book, written entirely in Arabic, generated considerable discussion at the ceremony. Numerous commentators and several high-ranking officials present strongly advocated for its complete translation into French. This initiative aims to broaden its accessibility, allowing a wider audience of students, researchers, and readers to benefit from its profound scientific analysis of Chadian parliamentarism.
The event concluded with a well-attended book signing session, where the author personally dedicated and signed copies for attendees.
